The article reports that according to the U.S. Department of Labor, the number of volunteers rose from September 2003 to September 2004. About 64.5 million people volunteered at least once during that period, up from 63.8 for the same period a year before, and up from 58.8 million for the period ended September 2002. Mississippi Center for Nonprofits provides training and counseling to nonprofits all across the state. It conducts nonprofit operations and management seminars to help attendees raise the efficiency and effectiveness of their organizations. From properly structuring the board of directors to fundraising to event management, the center has become a valuable asset to Mississippi's nonprofit community. |
