مستخلص: We present a 2D model of the human larynx able to reproduce the self-sustained oscillating interaction between the airflow and the vocal folds. We describe the interaction of the compressible flow and the elastic structure in an ALE formulation. Our solver uses globally fourth-order accurate Summation By Parts (SBP) finite difference operators in space and a fourth-order explicit method in time. We derive Simultaneous Approximation Term (SAT) expressions that impose the velocity and traction boundary conditions weakly. We present results from simulations with realistic parameters for human phonation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
