Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and sexual dysfunction are highly prevalent in ageing men. The relationship between LUTS and sexual dysfunction has received increased attention in recent years because both diseases are highly prevalent, are frequently associated in the same ageing men, and contribute significantly to their overall quality of life. There have been a number of multinational studies looking at lower urinary tract symptoms, sexual function, sexual disorders and comorbidities. This review focuses on Asian studies and aims to compare various Asian studies and to raise awareness in Asian men of the relationship between LUTS and sexual function/dysfunction. It also looks at how the relationship of LUTS and sexual dysfunction affects men's health in Asia compared to other countries around the world.
