The article explains the changes in United States business bankruptcy laws brought about by the introduction of the October 1979 Bankruptcy Code. The code is the most significant revision in bankruptcy law since 1938, and will affect the business decisions of all parties to bankruptcy proceedings. The changes were designed expressly to improve the administration of bankruptcy cases by businesses. Rules introduced that concern involuntary bankruptcy are detailed, along with reforms on credit risk provisions. |
