This a reflection on the communication process in nursing emphasizing the domination by scientific knowledge and fragmentation of shares between professionals that manifests itself during the interaction between the subjects that are in health services for solutions for adversity. The method is qualitative, with documentary research of 112 articles published in Brazilian journals between 1990 and 2002. The content analysis of evidence: the domination instrumental on the organisation of services and the mechanization of nursing care. The results indicate the domination by knowledge, normalized and controlled in health services. There is a predominance of technological devices and technology in finding solutions to health problems. The method of construction of knowledge of nursing re-conceptually means the Science, Technical and language with a view to their practical application
