الوصف: Two new nanoscale cobalt(II) coordination compounds, (adH)3[Co(Hpzdc)(pzdc)2].6H2O (1) and [Co(pzdc)2(H2O)2]n (2) (where H2pzdc is 2,3-pyrazinedicarboxylic acid and ad is adenine), were synthesized using a sonochemical process and characterized via scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) and FT-IR spectroscopy. The structural characterization of 1 through single crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that it consists of a 0D coordination compound in which Co(II) ion is six-coordinated by two pzdc2- and one pzdcH- ligands. Compound 2 however, is a 1D coordination polymer (CP) and was found to be a perfect precursor for Co3O4 nanoparticles. Changes in the morphology and size of the nanoparticles have been induced by altering the calcination temperature in the range of 400 to 850 °C. Furthermore, the magnetic behavior of 2 was studied and compared with its single crystal counterpart.

الوصف: The novel coordination polymer [Mn(Andolast)(H2O)] was isolated in the form of air- and moisture-stable polycrystalline powders by reacting Mn(CH3COO)2·4H2O and the sodium salt of N-4-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)phenyl-4-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl) benzamide (Na2Andolast). The crystal structure of [Mn(Andolast)(H2O)], determined by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) structure solution methods, is composed by 1-D double-chain motifs. The thermal behavior of [Mn(Andolast)(H2O)] was investigated by coupling thermal analyses to variable-temperature PXRD: water evolution takes place in the range 80-250 °C with no change of the unit cell parameters up to 180 °C; at 200 °C, a low-crystallinity phase is formed, surviving up to 300 °C. The electronic transition spectroscopic properties of both Na2Andolast and the coordination polymer were assessed, with particular care to luminescence: [Mn(Andolast)(H2O)] is luminescent already at room temperature, even if its emission is reduced with respect to that of Na2Andolast, mainly as a consequence of the enhanced rate of non-radiative decays.

الوصف: A carboxylate-bridged metal-organic coordination polymer {[Ni2(NA)4(µ-H2O)]·2H2O}n (1, HNA = nicotinic acid) has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by FT-IR, TG/DTA, micro analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. 1 has an interesting 3D network structure and adjacent networks are further connected together via strong ?-? packing interactions. The thermal behavior and catalytic performance of 1 were investigated and its selectivity was measured as 100% for the oxidation of thymol (T) to thymoquinone (TQ). © 2015 Elsevier Ltd. الوصف: A novel three dimensional (3D) coordination polymer [Sm(pic)2(pydc)4(H2O)]n (pydc = pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylate, Hpic = picolinic acid) (1) has been synthesized hydrothermally and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, TG/DTA, single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD). This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with cell parameters a = 9.3041(13) Å, b = 14.216(2) Å, c = 10.5401(15) Å, V = 1387.72(30) Å3 and Z = 4. Complex 1 has a distinct 3D open-framework architecture due to the presence of picolinic ligands, which are converted from 2,5-pydc ligands by in-situ decarboxylation under the hydrothermal conditions. The compound exhibits strong luminescent emissions because of the f-f transitions of the Sm(III) ion at room temperature. According to TGA/DTA analysis, the coordination polymer is thermally stable up to ~300 °C. © 2015 Elsevier Ltd.
