الوصف: Building on the immense corpus of scholarship focused on scientific literacy, this chapter defines scientific literacy and demonstrates the symbiotic relationship between it and information literacy, with a particular focus on the life sciences. It addresses scientific literacy within the context of the growing trend of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research and briefly describes literacy expectations for students. The chapter discusses multiple literacy frameworks and how to improve students’ scientific literacy using information literacy skills.
