Considering the market demand and in view of the need to extend the offer period of oranges and tangerines for fresh consumption, introduction and recommendation of new alternatives to diversify the citrus industry in Southern Minas are necessary. Therefore, this research aimed to study the behavior of physiological data seedless cultivars and mandarin orange. The experiments were conducted at Agricultural Research Corporation of Minas Gerais. In the field experiment, we investigated the behavior of seasonal varieties of seedless mandarin considering gas exchange of cultivars. In the greenhouse, orange cultivars subjected to drought, were studied as to predawn leaf water potential and midday and as gas exchange. In the initial cultivation of mandarin 'Clemenules' hydrogel was used, analyzing the responses of plants as gas exchange and water potential predawn and midday. The mandarin ‘Okitsu’ showed stomatal sensitivity in conditions of high evaporative demand of the atmosphere of summer. The mandarin ‘Ortanique’ was sensitive to low temperature in autumn and ‘Clemenules’ showed higher photosynthetic rate this season. There was no significant difference between orange cultivars on the water potential when submitted to drought conditions studied. As for gas exchange, water deficit caused a reduction of photosynthetic rate by stomatal limitation in all cultivars and for cultivar 'Lanelate' maintaining the Ci/Ca ratio also suggests not stomatal limitations of photosynthesis.
