The article informs that MetroHealth Medical Center, Ohio, is ready to begin its $30 million transformation of the former Deaconess Hospital into a catchall space for senior health care, now that it has $10 million from Cuyahoga County. Presently called the Senior Health and Wellness Center at MetroHealth South, the Old Brooklyn campus will be renovated to house 144 long-term care beds, 14 hospice beds, primary and specialty outpatient clinics, home-and community-based nursing and personal care services, and offices for various senior citizen agencies and organizations. According to James Campbell, chairman of the Department of Family Practice, it will include everything from psychiatry to podiatry. |
