An interview with consultant otologist Professor Tony Wright about ear problems is presented. When asked about tinnitus, he cites that subjective tinnitus or phantom auditory perception is the perception of sound when none exists in the environment. He asserts that the treatment of tinnitus aims to increase natural filtering. He adds that the cause of benign positional vertigo is believed to be crystal deposits in the posterior semicircular canal. |
