The article reports on the veterinary study of Deng Shu-xuan and colleagues which examined the application of PCR assay in the detection of Salmonella enteritidis infections in ducks. It states that the assay was applied to several common pathogenic bacteria and Salmonellas of duck including S. choleraesuis, S. pullorum, and S. gallinarum. The results indicate that PCR assay provides a rapid and accurate method of identification in suspected cases and investigation of molecular epidemiology. |
