[ABSTRACT] We have organized a lidar network for the observation of Asian dust in the spring, March to May, of 1997 in Japan. Owing to the communication through the internet e-mail we effectively obtained some coincident observation of Kosa aerosol layers. We have compared the ground-based data in Tokyo with a satellite observation, TOMS. Further continuation and wide coverage of the network are desired.
