The article presents an analysis on the use of peasant to describe the socioeconomic context in Jesus period. It provides an outline on the technical concept of peasant that developed in the Western social sciences. The agrarian theories of Alexander Vasilevic Chayanov, an anticollectivist Russian economist, was used to demonstrate its influence in the reconstruction of Jesus and his socioeconomic context. |
