The author discusses the study by E. Hahm and colleagues on the extracellular protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) as an important regulator of β2-integrin macrophage-1 antigen (Mac-1) adhesiveness on neutrophils. He says that the study shows a new mechanism by which β2-integrin Mac-1 adhesiveness can be regulated under inflammatory conditions. He mentions that the findings of the study play an important role for PDI in neutrophil regulation during inflammation. |
