مستخلص: The article presents a study which investigated whether telephone-based counseling program rooted in motivational interviewing can enhance medical adherence for patients with osteoporosis. Potentially eligible patients had been newly prescribed medication and consenting participants were randomized to a counseling program. A control group were mailed educational materials. The two groups were found to be balanced at the baseline. Median adherence for interventionists was 49 percent.
