The article presents information on the impact of pregnancy in women with cystic fibrosis (CF). A study was conducted to characterize health outcomes and CF-related therapies in women who became pregnant. For the present study, data was taken from the Epidemiological Study of Cystic fibrosis taken from 1995 to 2003. The study method involved comparison of women who met the criteria for a qualifying pregnancy with a matched group of never-pregnant women during three time periods. The results of the study concluded that women with CF who become pregnant experienced similar respiratory and health trends as nonpregnant women. |
