This article discusses findings of a follow-up study, which examined the effects of pre-diagnostic obesity and weight gain throughout the life course on survival after a breast cancer diagnosis. Evidence of an increased risk of developing breast cancer is attributed to hormonal profiles that are higher in circulating levels of steroid hormones, which is then caused by high adipose tissue conversion. |
