الوصف: Paramagnetic centers arising from radioactive β decay of tritium incorporated into glycine amino acid were investigated by the method of EPR in a frozen aqueous solution (H2O/D2O). Tritium-labeled alanine and glycyl–glycine dipeptide were also studied in H2O solutions. In the cases of glycine and glycyl–glycine, the EPR spectra specific solely to this process were obtained (compared to EPR spectra formed by the outer ionizing radiation). The analysis of the accumulation kinetics of this signal, its temperature and photochemical dependences, and the character of the hyperfine structure lead to the concept that at temperatures below 130 °K a He-containing paramagnetic complex (C–3He+ bond) may exist within the labeled glycine radiolysis product or its ion radical. Basing on this concept the activation energy of the hypothetical product dissociation is determined.
