مستخلص: The purpose of this article is to present the intellectual and cognitive structure of the theme "Knowledge Governance". To achieve this goal, a bibliographic analysis was made based on information retrieval in the Scopus database within the 20-year time period (2001-2019). 1,066 references were retrieved and, after a selection process, were limited to 915 documents. The conceptual basis for this work is based on the premise that the bibliographic references cited in scientific articles can serve as an indicator of influence in the scientific communities that address a given theme, and can be considered as the intellectual structure of this theme. On the other hand, the analysis of term co-occurrences (in the keywords) can give clues about the cognitive structure, based on the association of terms that map knowledge subareas and provide evolutionary trends of the studies. Thus the results obtained: a) visualization of the density; b) the co-occurrence network of keywords; c) most central articles in a document collection network. This bibliometric approach makes it possible to analyze large amounts of literature and is very useful for improving the understanding of a complex research topic. Future developments of a literature review are pointed out that can be enriched with further research through content analysis. Results can contribute to the development of both the theory and practice of research methods employed across the whole field of Business and Management, particularly on Knowledge Governance implementation at Organizational and Institutional levels. Combining different types of interactive visualizations can be a catalyst to perform a solid and useful literature review. Making relations between different perspectives across the amount of scientific literature by using visualization techniques can be a resource to build solid frameworks, both for theory and practice on Knowledge Governance topic.
