One solution found and applied by some Romanian librarians to further their personal development is learning through externally funded projects. One such example is the project of the Șirna Municipal Library in Prahova, funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme, in which participants benefited from a comprehensive professional development programme. Implemented between December 2020 and December 2022, the project "Green Library for a Sustainable Community - Lib4Green" brought together 11 volunteers (librarians, local authorities, community members), chosen through a selection process, to participate in job shadowing mobility at the National and University Library in Zagreb, Croatia, during the week of 4-10 July 2022. The host librarians in the city of Zagreb prepared a diverse programme for the 7 days of the mobility, combining interactive presentations with visits to different public and university libraries, in order to facilitate a better understanding of the process of their functioning. The objectives visited by the project participants were: Savica Library, the library for the visually impaired and the city library "Ivan Goran Kovacic" in Karlovack. The mobility in Zagreb, included in the Erasmus+ project, "Green Library for a Sustainable Community" was an important exchange of experience for the participants and facilitated the achievement of the proposed goal. Through such a project, competences and skills were developed that respond to the challenges in the local community, and the exchange of experience brought a considerable contribution to the theme and quality of the activities organized after the Romanian librarians returned home. O soluție găsită și aplicată de o parte dintre bibliotecarii români pentru a continua dezvoltarea personală este învățarea prin intermediul proiectelor cu finanțare externă. Un astfel de exemplu este proiectul Bibliotecii Comunale Șirna din Prahova, finanțat de Uniunea Europeană prin programul Erasmus+, în cadrul căruia participanții au beneficiat de un program complex de dezvoltare profesională. Implementat în perioada decembrie 2020-decembrie 2022, proiectul „Biblioteca Verde pentru o comunitate durabilă - Lib4Green" a reunit, în săptămâna 4-10 iulie 2022, 11 voluntari (bibliotecari, autorități locale, membri din comunitate), aleși printr-un proces de selecție, pentru a participa la mobilitatea de job shadowing desfășurată la Biblioteca Națională și Universitară din Zagreb, Croația. Bibliotecarii gazdă din orașul Zagreb au pregătit pentru cele 7 zile ale mobilității un program divers, în cadrul căruia au îmbinat prezentări interactive cu vizite la diferite biblioteci publice și universitare, cu scopul de a facilita o înțelegere cât mai bună a procesului de funcționare a acestora. Obiectivele vizitate de participanții la proiect au fost: Biblioteca Savica, biblioteca destinată persoanelor cu deficiențe de vedere și biblioteca orășenească „Ivan Goran Kovacic" din Karlovack. Mobilitatea din Zagreb, inclusă în proiectul Erasmus+, „Biblioteca Verde pentru o comunitate durabilă" a reprezentat un schimb de experiență important pentru participanți și a facilitat atingerea scopului propus. Printr-un astfel de proiect, s-au dezvoltat competențe și aptitudini care răspund provocărilor din comunitatea locală, schimbul de experiență aducând un aport considerabil în tematica și calitatea activităților organizate, după întoarcerea acasă a bibliotecarilor români.
