الملخص (بالإنجليزية): The year 2011 was declared by The European Volunteer Centre (CEV) as the European Year of Volunteering. Within this context, our theological reflection begins with a theoretical analysis of the notion of volunteering, as an expression of human freedom, charity and responsibility. The second part of the material refers to the "axiology" of honorarium, based on the biblical text: "A worker is worthy of his wages" (Luke 10, 7), precisely in order to distinguish between authentic (free) volunteering and "voluntary" work, imposed within a totalitarian regime, such as the communist one. The last part of the presentation touches on the missionary dimension of volunteering, starting from the biblical exhortation: "Freely you have received, freely give" (Matthew 10, 8). This part represents, in fact, a plea for Christian volunteering, as an opportunity for mission and evangelism, both nationally and internationally. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Romanian): Anul 2011 a fost declarat de Centrul European de Voluntariat (CEV), ca An European al Voluntariatului. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
