الوصف: This article examines the historiographical interpretation of Italian infantries during the period from the 12th to the early 14th century by the prominent Italian polemologist Piero Pieri (1893-1979), whose work stands as the sole comprehensive analysis on this subject and has served as a major source of inspiration for subsequent scholars. However, given the passage of 90 years and the accumulation of new research, his work requires revision. Specifically, this article challenges Pieri’s rigid temporal and regional categorization, which separates a superior Lombard infantry of the Swabian era, characterized by militarized citizenry, from an inferior Tuscan infantry of the Late Communal period, characterized by bourgeois and peasant levies. This piece rejects Pieri’s criterion for assessing infantry quality in a decontextualized manner and highlights the remarkable homogeneity and excellence of Italian armies in the early 14th century. It asserts that these armies reflect a more cohesive and state-oriented Communal development compared to the more primitive system of the Swabian era. The article also explores the interregional similarity of Italian warfare through mercenarism and underscores the considerable superiority of Italian Communal armies over other European infantries in the early 14th century.

الوصف: Communal armies, highlighting the role of the infantry wings that usually appear on the flanks of the cavalry lines from the end of the 13th century to the first half of the 14th century. The importance of this topic underlies the historiographical underestimation of this combined arms tactic in the evaluation of both the Italian and European Medieval warfare. If the history of military Art has indeed shown considerable interest in the tactical development of European infantry in the early 1300s, the wings of tens of thousands of Italian infantry have been in fact substantially not studied, both in Italy and abroad. The “wing” tactic, while probably not innovative in the wider European landscape, finds its maximum development and documentation in the Italian Communes, supporting the cavalry on the flanks and closing in on the enemy ones once the opponent’s foot is overwhelmed. The article tries to explain, in addition to the interaction of the various arms, also that of the infantry specialties (pikemen, crossbowmen and pavisemen) within the wings, despite the scarce existing information: as a general datum, the great level of collective training armament of the infantrymen is noted together with, however, the decline of the same during the great political-social crisis of the mid-300s, with the persistence above all of professional units of crossbowmen and pavisemen.

الوصف: The two epigrams AP VII, 504 and 506 by Leonidas of Taranto, which depict the death of a fisherman and a sailor caused by fish, have aroused the curiosity of scholars, without exhausting the interpretations. In this article, I consider them as a diptych by analysing their numerous common points, but also by highlighting the philosophical meaning they may have with regard to the Cynic inspirations of the work of Leonidas of Taranto, and in particular of the epigram AP VII, 472.

الوصف: Nessun gioco è neutro e neutrale, nemmeno un videogioco. Videogiocare è posizionarsi rispetto ad un racconto, è “abitare” scenari differenti, mettersi nei panni dell’altro, simulare situazioni anche e spesso lontane da sé. Ad ogni schema ludico sottende un’ideologia, che rispecchia il pensiero di chi lo progetta. Guardare, dunque, all’industria videoludica attraverso la prospettiva di genere significa guardare attraverso un caleidoscopio ricco di complessità, contraddizioni e opportunità, quanto mai attuali, rispetto alle dinamiche delle forme di potere veicolate sia dalle rappresentazioni che dalle possibilità di accesso alle professioni ad esso collegate. I videogiochi sono sempre più considerati media di informazione e formazione, strumenti per comunicare, per promuovere contenuti culturali, memorie di storie, territori, cittadinanze. Prevedono un’interazione sempre più stretta tra settori apparentemente differenti sia a livello tecnico (videogame, cinema, televisione, animazione, arte) che sociale (educazione, intrattenimento, politica, divulgazione pubblica e culturale, quali musei, enti turistici) e imprenditoriale (mondo pubblicitario, editoria tradizionale, piattaforme online, strumenti digitali ecc.). E sono un vero e proprio esempio di re-mediation (rimediazione) (Bolter e Grusin, 1998), ovvero di come ogni nuovo strumento di comunicazione assorbe in se stesso gli altri media che l’hanno anticipato, arrivando alla definizione di un medium che combina in sé trasparenza e opacità, tra tradizione e innovazione, tra narrazione e produzione. E, dunque, essere maschio o femmina, come identità socialmente e culturalmente costruite, deve fare i conti con le stratificazioni di queste vecchie e nuove narrazioni, nonché silenzi, impregnati spesso di stereotipi che sfociano in pregiudizi e sessismi, per proporre nuove contro narrazioni, nuove visioni. الوصف: Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common tumor in women and represents the leading cause of cancer death. Radiation therapy plays a key-role in the treatment of all breast cancer stages. Therefore, the adoption of evidence-based treatments is warranted, to ensure equity of access and standardization of care in clinical practice. Method: This national document on the highest evidence-based available data was developed and endorsed by the Italian Association of Radiation and Clinical Oncology (AIRO) Breast Cancer Group. We analyzed literature data regarding breast radiation therapy, using the SIGN (Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network) methodology (www.sign.ac.uk). Updated findings from the literature were examined, including the highest levels of evidence (meta-analyses, randomized trials, and international guidelines) with a significant impact on clinical practice. The document deals with the role of radiation therapy in the treatment of primary breast cancer, local relapse, and metastatic disease, with focus on diagnosis, staging, local and systemic therapies, and follow up. Information is given on indications, techniques, total doses, and fractionations. Results: An extensive literature review from 2013 to 2021 was performed. The work was organized according to a general index of different topics and most chapters included individual questions and, when possible, synoptic and summary tables. Indications for radiation therapy in breast cancer were examined and integrated with other oncological treatments. A total of 50 questions were analyzed and answered. Four large areas of interest were investigated: (1) general strategy (multidisciplinary approach, contraindications, preliminary assessments, staging and management of patients with electronic devices); (2) systemic therapy (primary, adjuvant, in metastatic setting); (3) clinical aspects (invasive, non-invasive and micro-invasive carcinoma; particular situations such as young and elderly patients, breast cancer in males and cancer during ...

الوصف: Contemporary game studies have opened to an increasingly deep problematisation of video game worlds, both from arepresentational and an interactional point of view: there is now widespread talk of how video games contribute to buildinterpretations of the world, and trajectories to convey ideologically, politically, historically, and socially defined positions.In this context, studies on the relationship between video games and gender or ethnic representations are increasinglypresent (and decisive). On the other hand, the relationship between video games and disability, although equally complexand delicate, is surprisingly little studied: not only is the number of academic studies on the subject very low, but quan‐titative evaluations on the issue tend to be rare.This contribution aims, on the one hand, to offer a synthetic view of the studies published so far about disability andvideo games; to provide keys to interpretation and reading to stimulate a more lively debate on the subject; and, finally,to offer an overview of the accessibility solutions that video games offer in order to better interpret the phenomenon.
