مستخلص: The article discusses a study on the effect of the infusion of 20% of human albumin solution (HAS) on acid-base balance using Stewart's approach. It notes 2 opposite effects in the administration of 20% HAS namely it provoked an alkalizing effect with an increase in SID and conversely an acidification effect by a rise in A minus due to a rise in albuminate concentration. It suggests that the decline in chloride levels could be a reflection of moderate amounts of chloride present in 20% of HAS.
