The article discusses the impact of automated technologies on the career of medical technologists (MTs). The author reveals that with more automated medical laboratories, the skills of MTs are easily transferred to other areas outside the laboratory. Moreover, she states that many laboratories will be operating with one or two certified MTs who are overseeing the daily work performed on these instruments by less qualified staff. |
