The mallet thumb is an injury to the thumb that is relatively rare and it may be missed as a diagnosis. There is no consensus as to how to confirm the diagnosis, nor is it clear whether conservative or operative treatment is superior. De mallet thumb is een zeldzaam letsel van de duim, dat gemakkelijk kan worden gemist. Tot op heden is er geen consensus over de diagnostiek en behandeling van dit letsel, conservatief of operatief.
