مستخلص: The shipping industry transports nearly 80% of the goods worldwide and requires large funding. The shipping industry shifted from debt to equity as the source of funding in the last decade. Because most shipping companies already had their initial public offering before 2013, these companies tend to engage in follow-on equity offerings (FPO). However, the challenge faced by the shipping companies is the lack of knowledge on successful FPO. The purpose of this study is to identify the most influential factors affecting shipping companies’ FPO from the investor perspective. This research applies a hybrid multiple-criteria decision-making model integrating the fuzzy-Delphi method and Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory, processing survey responses covering four dimensions and 16 criteria from 33 investment experts. The results show that financial indicator is the primary cause affecting offering condition, technical indicators. An increase in earnings per share would help the financial performance of the shipping companies to appear most attractive to investors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

مستخلص: Selecting emergency suppliers from a wide range of candidates based on their performance under each criterion can be regarded as a multi-criterion decision making (MCDM) problem. Existing MCDM models to solve the emergency supplier selection problem ignored situations where large-scale suppliers exist, the influence of criteria weights on the robustness of ranking results, and the influence of psychology of regret aversion and disappointment aversion on decision results. To make up for these deficiencies, this paper proposes an MCDM model to solve emergency supplier selection problem with large-scale alternatives. Firstly, to avoid the influence of criteria weights on ranking of alternatives, the Robustness, Correlation, and Standard Deviation (ROCOSD) method is introduced to determine objective weights of criteria based on three objectives. Secondly, the τ-balanced clustering method is applied to cluster large-scale alternatives into balanced clusters. Next, considering the psychology of regret aversion and disappointment aversion of decision makers, a two-stage method is proposed to rank alternatives, which identifies the optimal alternative within each cluster and forms a new cluster consisting of these optimal alternatives in the first stage, and selects the optimal alternative from the new-formed cluster in the second stage. A numerical case is given to validate the proposed model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

مستخلص: The superiority of BWM over other weighting methods for obtaining the weight values of the attributes is that it achieves high-confidence results with a reasonable number of pairwise comparisons. Although the best-worst method (BWM) is a well-known multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method that has been successfully utilized in almost all scientific areas to solve challenging real-life problems, no research has comprehensively examined the state-of-the-art in this regard. The present study depicts a detailed overview of publications concerned with BWM during the period 2015–2022. Based on the information obtained from the Scopus database, this work presents a big picture of current research on BWM. In other words, this paper analyzes the existing literature about BWM and identifies thematic contexts, application areas, emerging trends, and remaining research gaps to shed light on future research agendas aligning with those gaps. Further, the most recent BWM research is analyzed in the top ten scientific areas, from engineering to materials science. “Engineering”, “computer science”, and “business, management, and accounting” are the hottest fields of BWM research. China is the most active country regarding “engineering” and “computer science”, whereas India is the leader in “business, management, and accounting”. The study also reveals that there are still many research gaps in BWM research. The big picture taken in this study will not only showcase the current situation of BWM research but will also positively impact the direction and quality of new research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

مستخلص: In a very open competitive context where pure online players are consistently gaining market share, the use of digital devices is a steady trend which is penetrating physical retail stores as a tool for retailers to improve customer experience and increase engagement. This need has increased with the COVID-19 pandemic as electronic devices in physical stores reduce the contact between people providing a greater sense of health safety, hence improving the customer experience. This work develops a multiple-criteria decision-making model for retailers who want to digitize their physical stores, providing a systematic approach to manage investment priorities in the organization. Important decisions should involve all different areas of the organization: Finance, Clients, Internal Processes and Learning & Growth departments. This strategic decision can be made hierarchically to obtain consistent decisions, also the use of the Order Weighted Average operator allows for alternative scenarios to be presented and agreed among the different areas of the business. The authors develop a use case for a Spanish fashion retailer. In the most widely agreed scenario the preferred devices were more technologically complex and expensive, while in the scenarios where the head of Finance is more predominant, cheaper and simpler devices were selected. مستخلص: VIKOR is a well-defined multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) method since it reflects different risk attitudes of decision-makers by measuring the overall performance of an alternative under all criteria as “group value” and the worst performance of the alternative under all criteria as “individual regret”, but it cannot deal with MCDM problems where the criteria of different alternatives are inconsistent (different) and the decision information is uncertain. To address these problems, we present a probabilistic linguistic VIKOR method by combining with probabilistic linguistic term sets which portrays uncertain information such as individual hesitancy and incomplete belief flexibly. In addition, we introduce the aspired and tolerable values of criteria as reference points to measure the closeness degrees of alternatives to the ideal solution. To compare group values and individual regrets of different alternatives, we develop a vector normalization method that considers the number of criteria. The robustness of the aggregation results of group values and individual regrets is improved based on the extended Borda rule, which takes into account both values and ranks of alternatives in the aggregation. A case study of personnel evaluation demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method for solving MCDM problems with inconsistent criteria and uncertain decision information. مستخلص: We develop a conceptual structure to explore how financial technology (FinTech) innovation is being implemented to deal with vague, inconsistent and ambiguous knowledge in actual world. The structure of this study is built upon the technology, organization, environment (TOE) context, which one uses the concept of multi-criteria estimation to measure the significance of FinTech innovation. We develop an integrated MCDM (multiple criteria decision-making) model through rough set theory help administrators obtain a strategic influence relation map for enhancing performance approaching towards the aspiration value. This model involves three steps: primary, we apply this rough number to define group views which reflect upon experts' real experiences; second, we use the rough DEMATEL-based ANP-(RDANP) to acquire the rough influential weights and rough influential network relationship map (RINRM) based on this TOE structure and its corresponding attributes; finally, we utilize the rough modified VIKOR with the influence to analyze the gap between the performance value and the aspirated level. The empirical case was originated from financial industry in Taiwan. According to the weighting results the expected benefits, technology integration, and competitive pressure were the most important criteria. Our results also illustrate how FinTech innovation can be used for promoting financial services. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

مستخلص: Nowadays, customers are not only interested in the quality of products, but they also want to have these products in a timely manner. The managers of an organization are faced with two problems when the distribution of products is in question, namely: (1) customers are usually geographically dispersed and (2) transportation should be performed in a cost-effective way. Although managers may have a significant experience and formal knowledge, decisions connected with the selection of an appropriate transportation company may very often be biased. For the purpose of avoiding making the inadequate decisions that might harm the operation of the organization, the application of a hybrid MCDM model is proposed in this paper. The proposed model consists of three fuzzy MCDM methods, including: the PIPRECIA, the PSI, and the Co-CoSo methods. The fuzzy-PIPRECIA method is used to achieve the subjective weights of criteria, whereas the fuzzy-PSI method is used to obtain the objective weights of criteria. Fuzzy-CoCoSo is utilized to rank alternative transportation companies according to their performances. The possibilities of the proposed hybrid model are tested on a real case study pointed at the selection of an appropriate company for the transportation of ready-garments to retailers in Turkey. مستخلص: In multiple criteria decision making (MCDM), the even swaps method uses the relationships of criteria to make trade-offs but the burdens of experts are heavy; the linear programming technique for multidimensional analysis of preference (LINMAP) method cannot deal with the inter-dependencies among criteria but the cognitive burdens of experts are low. Taking the advantages of both these methods, this study proposes a criterion utility conversion (CUC) technique to solve probabilistic linguistic MCDM problems given that the probabilistic linguistic term set (PLTS) can reflect the psychology of experts when making evaluations. The utility conversion process is first proposed based on the marginal utilities of criteria. Then, the criterion preference ratios of experts are refined from the utility conversion process. Based on the criterion preference ratios and the operations of PLTSs, the adjusted probabilistic linguistic expected values of alternatives are calculated. The consistency and inconsistency indexes of alternatives and criteria are defined to set up the linear programming used to work out the criterion preference ratios. An illustration about the selection of emergency logistics supplier is given to validate the proposed method. The comparative analysis indicates the low cognitive burden, high stability, and strong applicability of the proposed method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

مستخلص: For over last 20 years, significant changes have been observed in the age structure of the world's population. The percentage of working-age population is steadily decreasing all over the world, and a relative number of retired people is increasing. It confirms that our society is ageing. Moreover, according to the United Nations population forecast the situation will get worse. The increasing number of seniors is also connected with the need to provide them with institutional support in the form of care. One of the key elements of helping older adults may be gerontechnology - an interdisciplinary field of research that uses technology to implement the aspirations and abilities of seniors. On the basis of a meticulous literature review, 9 groups of gerontechnology have been identified that have been rated with respect to 30 criteria. In the period December 2019 - January 2020 a representative sample of 1.152 Poles aged over 40 (acting as decision makers) took part in the research consisting of completing the prepared questionnaire. Based on selected Multiple Criteria Group Decision Making methods, linear ordering of gerontechnologies was prepared and the most preferred by respondents participating in the study was indicated. مستخلص: We are currently witnessing the development of a set of organizations that have been entrusted with meeting the very diverse needs of citizens. As a result, they receive funds, in order to ensure they are managed appropriately. The transparency of the information revealed by Non-profit Organizations (NPOs) has become of increasing interest to public authorities and research. However, very few studies empirically measure the extent of transparency in NPOs. Only a handful checked the compliance of various indicators, lacking agreement on which ones to include and their weighting. To address this issue, this study empirically validates the weighting of the indicators from the alliance between the Platform for Social Action NGO and the Spanish Coordinator for Development NGO (CONGDE) document with experts in NPOs' opinions. We use the Best-Worst Method (BWM) to optimally assign weights to multi-criteria decision making situations. Our results show interesting differences in the level of importance given to the indicators by public authorities and experts, suggesting the need for a revision of the importance proposed.
