مستخلص: The article discusses a study on the relationship between uniform crime rates (UCR) and anticipation of victimization conducted in the states of Tennessee and Texas. Questionnaires were sent to a random sample of 2,000 individuals taken from the population of persons with a valid driver's license within the state. It cites the use of victimization studies as a suggested approach to better understand the magnitude of unregistered criminality or unreported criminality. It concludes that a positive relationship exists between UCR crime rates and anticipation of victimization and the perception of crime appears to be influenced by the crime rates in the community.
