This article aims to go through Erika e a Madrugada, the fourth and final short story from the book As quatro estações, by David Mourão-Ferreira. In this quaternary literary work, in which each of the short stories appears to mean a phase of the year's season of life and of love, the character Erika seems to embody winter, dusk, or a break while waiting for a new beginning. This research discusses the multiplicity of meanings that literary works arouse in common (and uncommon) readers. This article also intends to unveil the whispers of a short story found within the four walls of Erika's room, lit by the night and looking at the open window to the city and to the dawns of Davidian femininity, the finitude of lovers, or the time that passes beyond appeal. O presente artigo tem como propósito decifrar os dissolutos caminhos de Erika e a madrugada, o quarto e derradeiro conto do livro As quatro estações, de David Mourão-Ferreira. Nesta obra quaternária em que cada um dos contos sugere representar uma fase do ano, da vida e do amor, a personagem Erika incorpora o inverno, o ocaso, um ponto final a recompor-se enquanto se prepara para o começo de uma nova fase. Navegando entre a multiplicidade de leituras que as obras literárias despertam nos leitores comuns (e incomuns), este artigo ousa descortinar os murmúrios de um conto encontrado dentro das quatro paredes do quarto de Erika, alumiado pela luz da noite e a fitar a janela aberta para a cidade e para as madrugadas davidianas da feminilidade, da finitude dos amantes e do tempo que se adianta irrecorrível.
