B Author Information b An event is serious (based on the ICH definition) when the patient outcome is: * death * life-threatening * hospitalisation * disability * congenital anomaly * other medically important event A 24-year-old man developed acute liver failure during treatment with amphotericin-B for disseminated I Talaromyces marneffei i infection. Laboratory investigations showed increased levels of blood ammonia, WBCs, lactate dehydrogenase, AST, ALT and prothrombin time. He continued to develop acute liver failure with hepatic encephalopathy and prothrombin time prolongation. [Extracted from the article] |
