Post-traumatic aorto-right ventricular fistula (ARVF) is a rare complication that requires surgical repair. Open heart surgery carries the potential risk of unfavorable outcomes, and repair in the catheterization laboratory may be preferable. We report a successful case of endovascular closure of an ARVF in 16-years-old patient who survived despite having multiple stab wounds to the chest. The fistula was characterized by the proximity of the right coronary artery and thick ventricular septum. The fistula was closed with patent ductus arteriosus occluder device (HeartR™, Lifetech Scientific Co., Ltd.; Shenzhen, China). This case report indicates that the transcatheter approach may be a suitable alternative to open heart surgery in post-traumatic ARVF repair.
