مستخلص: The article reports a study which compares the effects of the external source of carbon dioxide (CO2) and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) during cardiac surgery on cardiopulmonary bypass. The results revealed the relationship between CO2 and the NIRS value. The studies indicated that it is important to introduce a correcting tool when an inadequate NIRS value occurs although the arterial line is accurately positioned.
