الملخص (بالإنجليزية): Root-knot nematodes, especially Meloidogyne incognita and M. javanica, are among the main limiting agricultural factors of the productivity of soybean (Glycine max). The use of resistance inducers can be an option for the management of these parasites. Acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM) is the most studied resistance-inducing product, but additional research is necessary before its use in the root-knot nematode management, including the evaluation of ASM concentrations, is well understood. This study aimed to assess the effect of different application methods and ASM concentrations on the management of M. javanica in soybean. Initially, 2,000 eggs of M. javanica were inoculated in soybean for its multiplication. After 60 d, the shoots were removed and soybean seed were sown with the following application methods: seed treatment, shoot treatment, and seed + shoot treatment. In each treatment, the concentrations: 0 (control); 0.025, 0.050, and 0.100 g/L were applied. After 60 d, vegetative and nematological parameters were evaluated. Acibenzolar-S-methyl did not affect the vegetative parameters that were measured, but the highest concentration (0.100 g/L) was efficient in the reduction of the number of galls, independently of the application method. The number of nematodes per gram of root decreased when the product was applied to shoots and in the seed + shoot treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
