مستخلص: The article reports that elephants have 20 copies of the p53 cancer-suppressing gene compared with only one copy in humans based on a study by Dr. Joshua Schiffman et al. of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, published in "The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA)." The study compared the reaction of elephant cells to radiation with that of healthy humans and patients with Li-Fraumeni syndrome. It found that elephant cells have higher self-destruction rate than human cells.
