The objective of this work is to analyze how rumors and hoaxes about immigration are used as a tool to disseminate a problem, the xenophobic discourse, which is beyond the reach of traditional media. However, this type of disinformation ends up affecting the perception that the media outlets transmits about this problem. The value of this research is in the combination of public data —the Spanish Centre for Sociological Research barometers— with the internal database of hoaxes and debunks that have been developed from the Maldita journalistic organization between 2017 and 2019. The evolution of the agenda on (in)migration is studied from a recent research point of view, not through its correspondence with the media outlets but through its convergence relationship with social networks and, specifically, with the new forms of disinformation. ; El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar cómo los bulos sobre inmigración se utilizan como herramienta de difusión de una problemática, el discurso xenófobo, que en la mayoría de ocasiones queda fuera del alcance de los medios tradicionales. Sin embargo, este tipo de desinformación acaba afectando a la percepción que transmiten los medios sobre esta problemática. La propuesta diferente de esta investigación está en la combinación de datos públicos —los barómetros del Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas— con la base de datos interna de bulos y desmentidos que han desarrollado desde la organización periodística Maldita entre 2017 y 2019. Se estudia la evolución de la agenda sobre (in)migración desde un punto de vista de reciente investigación, no a través de su correspondencia con los medios de comunicación sino de su relación de convergencia con las redes sociales y, en concreto, con las nuevas formas de desinformación. |
