مستخلص: |
In 2 O 3 hierarchical nanostructures are successfully synthesized by a facile room temperature solution route and a subsequent annealing treatment. The morphology and structure characterizations by SEM and XRD demonstrate that the as-prepared In 2 O 3 architectures show unique popcorn-like contour and are of similar size about 200–300 nm. In addition, the room temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of popcorn-like In 2 O 3 clearly indicates the existence of abundant oxygen vacancies. The gas sensor based on In 2 O 3 architectures exhibits a superior sensitivity, a good selectivity, a rapid response rate and a well stability towards 50 ppm acetone gas. The excellent acetone gas sensing properties are predominantly attributed to the synergistic effect of unique popcorn-like hierarchical structures and the oxygen vacancies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
