The article offers the author's insights on the influence of semantics and pragmatics in the concept of monolingual acquisition suggested by I. M. Tsimpli in her article. She says that Tsimpli has underestimated the role of semantics and pragmatic factors as she discussed very early monolingual acquisition in Germanic languages word order development such as verb. She also notes the less role played by semantics and pragmatics in monolingual acquisition. |
