مستخلص: The article presents a research study which focuses on the visceral leishmaniasis and its prevalence in captive crab-eating fox. Researchers found out the infestation of such zoonotical disease to these fox both in captive and wild. They conducted an indirect fluorescence antibody test to determine the presence of leishmaniasis on a dead captive fox. They have found out the higher population of intracellular parasites in macrophages than in neutrophils. Furthermore, the have also checked the Leishmania DNA through polymerase chain reaction.
