The article presents a study which examined early markers of cardiovascular dysfunction (CVD) in adolescent girls affected by the endocrine disorder Cushing's Syndrome (CS), before and after surgery, compared to healthy young girls. Results of the echocardiographic study and statistical analysis conducted are presented. Selection of the study population, blood pressure management, and definition of overweight and obesity are also discussed. The marked correlations between epicardial fat thickness (EFT) and body weight in young girls are also analyzed. |
