الوصف: An epidemiological model of a tick-borne infection reflects the passage of a human population or its subgroups through a series of stages, including tick bite, infection, immunity, and so on. Such a process can be quantitatively analyzed by using the rates of transfer from one stage to another. A “simple model” is described that is suitable for many tick-borne infections. It enables one to estimate the main epidemiological values, including infection rate and risk of contracting the disease. The model of a hyperendemic focus is also described. This model takes into account many additional specific features in areas of highly active epidemics, especially immunizing infections.
