مستخلص: The article discusses the role of zinc fingers (ZnFs) in DNA and RNA binding and in protein-protein interactions. It reveals that zinc fingers are one of the most abundant of all protein domains encompassing all domains that independently fold around one or more zinc ions. ZnFs can recognize RNA and can mediate protein-protein interactions. Twenty classes of zinc-binding domains are identified as of 2006.
