| الوصف: | Laboratory experiments were carried out to find out the absorption of phosphorus from water by the fresh water fish, Tilapia zillii. The results showed that radiophosphorus dissolved in the water was absorbed and utilized by the experimental fish. The gills appear to be the main site of phosphorus uptake. Radiophosphorus was deposited in the bone and muscle tissues. The gills and gastro-intestinal tract tissues showed the highest concentration factors of the radiophosphorus. More research is suggested to study the uptake of phosphorus through the food chain. |
