This article discusses the development of a digital cinema-projector that uses lasers, designed by a team of scientists at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China, led by Bi Yong, in collaboration with Phoebus Vision Opto-Electronics Technology. The digital cinema-projector can produce eighty percent of the range of colours visible to the human eye, as opposed to the sixty percent that can be produced by film. |
