مستخلص: The article discusess the limitations of using animal models for explaining human behavior and cognition, and analysis an analogy proposed in numerical cognition tested in newly hatched birds for the same. Topics dicussed include impact of cultural experiences in influencing number-space mapping in humans; the analysis of strength and directionality of lateralization patterns; and functional lateralization in the animal world.
