The article presents the first of a two-part report in which the author discusses how workplace coaches work with assigned goals. It addresses the concept of goals as a necessary component of coaching. Differences in how coaches conceptualized the basic notion of goals and how this influenced their work with clients' assigned goals are explored. Problems concerning power dynamics and collusion in coaching relationships and processes are also considered. |
