The article discusses the structures, functions and mechanism of enzymatic regulation of two enzyme families including Lipid phosphate phosphatases (LPPs) and lipins. The differences in functioning of the enzymes in regulation of cell signaling process and glycerolipid synthesis is also described. The importance of the enzymes in maintenance of lipid phosphates concentration in extracellular matrix is also included. |
