Researchers at Washington State University have reported new data on prostate cancer, specifically focusing on the resistance to docetaxel, the most commonly used chemotherapy for advanced prostate cancer. The study found that the activation of the cholinergic muscarinic M1 receptor (CHRM1) in castration-resistant prostate cancer cells contributes to resistance to docetaxel. Inactivation of CHRM1 restored the efficacy of docetaxel in resistant cells.
