The article focuses on a study on the predictors of cancer-specific survival in patients with nonmetastatic transitional cell carcinoma of the upper urinary tract. The study involved hundreds of patients who underwent nephroureterectomy and concomitant cystectomy for synchronous muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Log-rank test and Cox proportional-hazards regression models were used for univariate and multivariate analyses. The study concludes that pathologic stage of the primary tumor and lymph nodes is among the predictors. |
