Griseofulvin is an antifungal antibiotic used to treat various pathogenic mycotic diseases of animals and plants. Various analytical techniques for the determination of griseofulvin in pure form, in different chemical mixtures, in biological fluids and in fermentation samples are described in this review. The present communication reviews the use of spectrophotometry, spectrofluorimetry, paper chromatography, thin layer chromatography, gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography and microbiological assay for the estimation of griseofulvin.
