The article examines physicians' awareness of prescribing nonapproved drug indications in Slovenia. Their rational decision to use drugs for nonapproved indications must be based on a broad understanding of the dangers and benefits to the patient to debar irrational and possibly adverse use of drugs. Prescribing for this indication is widespread and part of everyday medical practice, which combined with the physicians’ unawareness exemplifies a drug safety and an efficiency concern. |
