Information about topics discussed at the South Dakota Ornithologists' Union (SDOU) Rare Bird Records Committee (RBRC) meeting on May 18, 2008 in Pickstown and on October 12, 2008 in Pierre is presented. The said meetings outlined the purpose and voting procedures of the RBRC, the committee that strongly encourages observers of rare or unusual birds in the state to report their observations to the secretary of the RBRC.
